3 Tenleytown Coffee Shops for Caffeine Lovers

It seems that a new report about coffee comes out every day, but true coffee lovers are faithful through thick and thin.
And we definitely have some coffee lovers right here in Tenleytown! As our neighborhood continues to grow, one thing’s for sure: restaurants and coffee shops will continue to pop up. There may be only a few coffee shops now, but we’re sure that will change.
Now, for some of our current favorite old and new spots to pick up coffee in Tenleytown, DC.
The New (Impressive) Kid on the Block: Bourbon Coffee
4200 Wisconsin Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20016
We’re super excited about this new coffee shop that just opened up in the Tenleytown neighborhood. Bourbon Coffee first started in Rwanda in 2007, and luckily, they decided to take their amazing coffee to America.
If you’re looking for a brew that will elevate your taste buds and transport you to a different world, Bourbon is your ride. Not only are the coffee flavors distinctly layered with various tastes by region, you’ll be happy to know that they use sustainable, eco-friendly farming techniques to perfect every flavor profile. Don’t miss the selection of delicious pastries baked on-site!
The Much-Loved Neighborhood Spot: Coffee Nature
4224 Fessenden St. NW, Washington, DC
Whether you need to finish the next great American novel or want to mingle with Tenleytown’s locals, you have to visit Coffee Nature. Opt for a decadent Ghirardelli Latte or a simple Cafe Au Lait, and pair with a hearty Breakfast Power Sandwich to get your weekend morning started off right. If you prefer to sleep in on the weekend, you can always stop by for an afternoon sandwich, wrap, or even a yummy Korean bibimbap bowl.
By the way, we weren’t joking about the “neighborhood hangout” part. There’s more than just coffee to keep the locals interested week to week. Head there for live music!
The Best Option for Hectic Days: Starbucks
4513 Wisconsin Ave. NW, Washington, DC
For busy days, it’s important to get your coffee and go. Head to the Starbucks right next to the Tenleytown AU metro stop (and right next to Tenley View!) for a convenient pre-work java wake-up call. Most metro-area coffee shops, don’t have this much seating, either—so if you need a space to tether to free WiFi and blast through some work emails, this Starbucks is a conveniently located pick. Oh, and there’s a fireplace for those cold winter days.
Tenleytown residents, we’re so excited to see what new restaurants and shops move in next. If you’re looking for an apartment in our corner of DC, request a tour of Tenley View apartments today. Our luxury units were made for you (and these lovely coffee spots are at least worth a visit)!
