Dog-Friendly Places in Tenleytown, DC

When you work all day, it’s tough to leave your pup at home for that work happy hour.

So why not bring them along as you run errands, work out, or go out to eat with friends? It’s not too tough when you live near all the dog-friendly places in Tenleytown. Here are a few things for you and your pup to do this weekend in our corner of DC.

Cafe Ole for Human Hangout Time

4000 Wisconsin Ave. NW, Washington, D.C. 20016

The problem with a lot of dog-friendly restaurants in DC? Their patios often close for the winter. One reason we love Cafe Ole is that their patio is dog friendly and open in winter! It’s heated, covered, and the waiter will bring your dog her very own bowl of water. You can’t get a much more comfortable spot for both you and your dog.

Make sure you feed your pup before you head to Cafe Ole to meet up with friends, because those enticing aromas of lamb sliders and the Lebanese Celebration—chicken with lebanese spices and lemon confit over bulgur—will have her begging.

Fort Reno for a Run

3800 Donaldson Pl. NW, Washington, D.C. 20018

Fort Reno is the spot for summer concerts, and one of our favorite spots in DC. It’s also a great place to go for a run with your leashed dog, and it’s even more fun in the snow! Don’t forget to take bags to pick up what your dogs leave behind after a romp on the hill—it will make everyone’s day a lot more fun.

Happy Paws for Doggie Daycare

4904 Wisconsin Ave. NW, Washington, D.C. 20016

Happy Paws calls themselves an “urban canine country club,” and when you see their list of services, you’ll see why. If your wily little pup could use some training, they offer “Polite Puppy” courses. If you are going on a long trip—or are planning on doing some shopping—send your dog off to daycare or boarding. Oh and of course, if your pup needs some TLC, they can get their nails trimmed and fur washed before heading home. This is one place your dog will actually be excited to visit.

Friendship Hospital for Animals for Vaccinations and Checkups

4105 Brandywine St. NW, Washington, D.C. 20016

The Friendship Hospital for Animals is a 24-hour stellar clean facility just steps from Tenley View. You can’t beat the service, quality of staff doctors, and the number of vet services offered. It’s a one-stop-shop for everything your pet needs, whether it’s tooth pulling or emergency care. More than that, it’s peace of mind for you!

PetMAC for Treats

4914 Wisconsin Ave. N.W. Washington, D.C. 20016

Boots. Brushes. Costumes. Mats. Harnesses. If there’s anything you need for your dog, you can bet you’ll find it at PetMAC. You can also bet your dog will get way too excited to visit this spot, due to the plethora of treats and toys available. If your pup was especially good today, why not reward him with a brand new puzzle to keep him busy while you’re at work?

Finally, there’s no place like a pet-friendly apartment in DC. Request a tour of Tenley View apartments, centrally located in Tenleytown at the corner of Brandywine and Wisconsin. You’re sure to find a place that’s just right for you and your furry bff!
