Power Through the Week With a Mini Tenleytown Sushi Crawl

Now that Murasaki has left Tenleytown, it’s time to take action.
We love all of the other amazing restaurants in Tenleytown, but can you imagine what it would be like if we had to hop on the metro just to get a good sushi roll? Not ideal.
Save our DC neighborhood from a sushi-less existence and support your local sushi chef by eating at a Tenleytown sushi spot today, and make your taste buds wildly happy in the process. We’ve created a mini sushi crawl to get you started. Check out the map below to begin your journey.
Sushi Stop #1: Genji (Whole Foods Tenleytown)
4530 40th St NW, Tenley Cir, Washington, DC 20016
Genji is the best supermarket sushi and sashimi bar we’ve tried (and definitely the most convenient). When you’re in the middle of a particularly infuriating midterm paper or putting the final touches on a work project, there’s nothing better than a fast, fresh sushi snack or meal to kickstart your brain. The Tenleytown Whole Foods is dangerously close to Tenley View, so this could become a regular thing (you’ve been warned).
Sushi Stop #2: Satay Club
4654 Wisconsin Ave NW Washington, DC 20016 b/t N 41st St & N Chesapeake St Tenleytown
Many of us go for curry or crab rangoon from Satay Club. But have you tried the nigiri, sashimi, or maki sushi yet? It’s time. Break out of that Malaysian red curry rut–as delicious as it is–and spring for something like a fresh salmon and scallion roll, spicy crunchy tuna roll, or spicy scallop nigiri. Can you hear your tastebuds singing? No? Then you haven’t been eating enough sushi.
Sushi Stop #3: Yosaku
4712 Wisconsin Ave NW Washington, DC 20016
If you’re looking for a sit-down experience, Yosaku is known for their $1 nigiri sushi happy hour (Monday – Thursday from 5-7:30 p.m.) and yummy vegetarian options. Enjoy the delicate taste of the sweet potato roll, veggies delight roll, vegetable tempura, and seaweed salad (made from four different kinds of seaweed). The best part? If you don’t want to sit down and wait for your food, Yosaku delivers within two miles of the restaurant–and your future Tenley View apartment is just down the street.
Good sushi is just a small part of the reason we love Tenleytown. This little corner of DC is walkable, friendly, and close to all the public transportation you need.
Is there anything else you want to know? Get in touch with us today and we’ll answer all your questions. Better yet, set up an appointment to see Tenley View apartments in person (and of course, don’t forget to stop for sushi in Tenleytown afterward).
